Taeil Removed from NCT: K-pop idol Moon Taeil has been removed from the popular group NCT and its subunit NCT 127 after being accused of sexual crimes. SM Entertainment, the agency behind NCT, announced on August 28, 2024, that Taeil had been implicated in a criminal case related to sexual offences.

In their official statement, SM Entertainment said, “We have recently confirmed that Taeil has been implicated in a criminal case related to a sexual offence. While looking into the situation, we recognized that the issue is very serious, and we have decided that Taeil could no longer continue team activities. We have discussed this matter with Taeil and it has been decided he will be removed from the group.
“The agency also mentioned that Taeil is currently cooperating with the police investigation and that they will provide further updates as the case progresses. SM Entertainment apologized for the controversy caused by their artist.
Following the news, Taeil’s fellow NCT members, including Taeyong, Doyoung, and Haechan, have unfollowed him on Instagram. Taeyong, the group’s leader, has also deleted all group photos that included Taeil and reduced his following count to zero.Taeil, who debuted with NCT in 2016, has been a permanent member of the group’s most popular subunit, NCT 127. He has also contributed to various Korean drama soundtracks, including those of “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One,” “Missing Crown Prince,” and “Love To Hate You.
