Fact-Checking Policy

Commitment to Accuracy at Flickernews.com:

At Flickernews.com: we are dedicated to ensuring the accuracy of all content we publish. We take several measures to maintain this standard:

  • Thorough Investigation: We approach claims with scepticism, question assumptions, and challenge conventional wisdom.
  • Due Accuracy: We strive to achieve accuracy in all our outputs, tailored to the nature and context of the content. This involves taking into account any constraints that may influence the expected level of accuracy.
  • Well-Sourced Content: All our content is based on available evidence, corroborated, and well-sourced. We aim to be transparent about any uncertainties and avoid baseless speculation.
  • Integrity in Reporting: Our journalists never intentionally plagiarize, distort facts, or manipulate visual information.
  • Independent Verification: We seek independent verification of claims, particularly those made by public officials or individuals with a specific agenda. Any content that cannot be corroborated is typically attributed.
  • Corrections and Accountability: Taazatime.com stands by the accuracy of its published information. If proven otherwise, we promptly correct the error. We do not knowingly mislead our audience, distort facts, or present fabricated material. We acknowledge and correct serious factual errors swiftly and appropriately.
  • Public Feedback: We offer the public a fair opportunity to report inaccuracies via the ‘Suggest A Correction’ section, which appears at the end of every web story we publish.
  • Multi-Level Fact-Checking: Our journalists are responsible for reporting, writing, and fact-checking stories, which are then reviewed by one or more editors. The complexity, sensitivity, and urgency of the story determine the seniority of the editor involved in the review process.

Correction Policies at Flickernews.com:

At Taazatime.com, we strive for excellence and accuracy, but we acknowledge that errors may occur. When they do, we take full responsibility and ensure transparency to prevent the spread of incorrect information.

Steps for Achieving Accuracy and Transparency:

For Readers:

  • If a reader identifies an error, they should immediately contact the Editor-in-Chief, Emilee Wentland, via email, phone, mail, or in person.

Contact Information:

  • Email: Flickernews@gmail.com
  • Subject Line: Correction Needed

Corrections are only officially submitted when the Editor-in-Chief is directly contacted. Submissions made to other staff members may not be addressed in a timely manner.

When submitting a correction, readers should include the error, the issue date or article number, where the error was seen (print, online, etc.), the reader’s name, and a contact phone number or email address. If possible, readers should also provide the correct information and a source for verification, such as meeting minutes for a misreported vote tally.

The reader can expect a response from the Editor-in-Chief and may be contacted for further clarification if needed. While a correction submission guarantees that the error will be investigated, it does not guarantee that a correction will be issued.

For Flickernews.com:

  • Once the Editor-in-Chief is made aware of an error, they will investigate using all available sources, including the information provided by the reader, reporter’s notes, recordings, and other relevant data.

If an error is confirmed, the Editor-in-Chief will issue a correction across all platforms where the incorrect information was disseminated:

Print:

  • Corrections will be printed on page 2A in the next issue, clearly denoting the issue, article, incorrect information, and the correction.

Flickernews.com:

  • The article will be corrected online, and an editor’s note will be added to the bottom of the article, specifying what was incorrect and when the article was updated.

Social Media:

  • If the article was shared on social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter, a post will be made linking to the corrected article, with a note regarding the correction.

After making the correction, the Editor-in-Chief will inform the reader who submitted the correction of the steps taken to address the error.
