Rice University is currently under a shelter-in-place order as authorities investigate a potential homicide that occurred at Jones College, a graduate business school on the Rice campus, on Monday evening.
Rice University Police Department (RUPD) sent multiple alerts to students and faculty, instructing them to stay inside their rooms and shelter in place until further notice. All classes and activities scheduled for August 26 have been cancelled.
The Houston Police Department has confirmed that homicide detectives will be sent to the area to assist with the investigation.
